About Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme
On 1st of January 2018, at 12am, WAT, we will begin accepting applications for the 4th cycle of the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme. Outstanding African entrepreneurs who have start-ups or business ideas with the potential to grow are encouraged to apply.
Through this business development programme, we provide training, mentoring, funding and network access to catalyze growth in Africa’s most under valued resource- its entrepreneurs.
From 2010 to 2015, TEF’s past programmes focused on direct interventions like scholarships and fellowships to support future leaders.
Entrepreneurs who pass through our Programme become part of a growing network of business leaders. The alumni network is comprised of all Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs and beneficiaries of our past Programmes. The online and offline network promotes sector-based and geography-based communities and collaboration across Africa.
Participants in one of the Foundation’s professional training and entrepreneurship programmes are part of our extraordinary pan-African network of over 3,000 young African leaders. Our alumni have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and are now providing innovative solutions across Africa.
There is growing interest in TEF as the partner of choice on African Entrepreneurship. Like-minded organisations can partner with us to gain access to the largest entrepreneurship ecosystem on the Continent and amplify their transformative impact.
Strategic partners can add value to our alumni, drive research, enhance the largest annual gathering of African Entrepreneurs or fund some of the brightest ideas to come out of Africa.
“The Tony Elumelu Foundation, Partner of Choice on African Entrepreneurship”
The Tony Elumelu Foundation under it’s Flagship “TEF Entrepreneurship Programme” has committed $100 million through our founder’s endowment to identify, train, mentor and fund 10,000 entrepreneurs across Africa over 10 years. Every year 1000 TEF Entrepreneurs are selected from across the 54 African countries and after a rigorous online 12 week training program they are each given a non-returnable grant of $5000 as seed capital.
With over 150,000 applications in the first 3 years alone there is a unique opportunity for like minded organizations to partner with the Tony Elumelu Foundation in order select many more entrepreneurs yearly to be a part of the program. With access to the largest entrepreneurship ecosystem on the continent, our partners would be leveraging on our networks, extensive experience, as well as a tried and tested system that has been proven to produce maximum impact!
The goal is that 10,000 entrepreneurs will create 1 million jobs and generate $10 billion in additional revenue on the continent. With our strategic partners we can multiply these figures exponentially. To this end, an opportunity also exists for second tier funding by TEF Partners in the form of debt or equity financing for the High Growth Companies that make up our growing pool of TEF Alumni.
Join us in this exciting journey as we change the African narrative through empowering African Entrepreneurs and contributing to its economic development.
“LETS STOP TALKING AND LETS START DOING”
We are focused on promoting the positive role of entrepreneurship in driving Africa’s social and economic development. In doing so, we hope to accelerate the spread of economic prosperity and social progress throughout Africa, strengthening the African entrepreneurial ecosystem.
